Co-Vo For Coloraturas

Our January 15 workout, Baroque Ornaments, is currently available On Demand. During this session, we practiced common vocal ornaments used in Baroque vocal music including the appoggiatura, acciaccatura, mordent, trill, and trillo (often called “goat trill”).

These 45-minute vocal workouts—delivered live, via Zoom—will guide experienced singers of all genders through a challenging routine of advanced vocal agility skills. Vocal exercises will include figures and patterns common in both Baroque and bel canto coloratura repertoire:

• A plethora of scales (including chromatic and minor)

• Patterns and divisions (including triplets, and groupings of four, six, and eight notes)

• Staccati

• Arpeggi

• Trills

Remember, practice makes permanent. To continue advancing your vocal agility skills, we invite you to repeat this workout often. Every For Coloraturas workout is different, while focusing on the same set of fundamental skills.
