Co-Vo Fundamentals > The AH Vowel
The AH Vowel
Do you struggle to sing a balanced AH vowel? Does your AH tend to be either breathy, throaty, or nasal? Do teachers and coaches tell you that your AH is “too far back” and that you should sing a “brighter” AH vowel? But when you try, the tone is shallow and lacks resonance?
This 45-minute vocal workout—delivered live, via Zoom—will provide an exhaustive technical exploration of this sometimes unexpectedly difficult vowel. Vocal exercises will focus on:
Eliminating the causes of breathy, throaty, or nasal AH vowels
How the AH vowel changes its “shade” in different registers of the voice (vocal acoustics)
The differences between the AH vowels used in different styles of singing, and in different languages
Remember, practice makes permanent. To perfect your AH vowel in all ranges of your voice, we invite you to repeat this workout often. Every AH Vowel workout is different, while focusing on the same set of fundamental skills.
