Co-Vo Fundamentals > Larynx Position
Larynx Position
Have you ever been told that you should sing with a “low larynx”, but not known how to accomplish that? Or whether you were already doing it? Have you wondered what is actually going on inside the larynx when you sing? Or has no one ever mentioned the word “larynx” to you at all?
This 45-minute vocal workout—delivered live, via Zoom—will provide a primer on the larynx, including vocal exercises that will teach you about:
Healthy laryngeal movement and flexibility in various ranges of the voice
Monitoring and massage techniques
What happens (or should happen) to the position of the larynx during inhalation, onset, pitch change, and diction
In addition, you will be introduced to the basics of laryngeal anatomy and physiology: just enough to satisfy curiosity…not enough to overwhelm!
Remember, practice makes permanent. To help train your awareness of your larynx, we invite you to repeat this workout often. Every Larynx Position workout is different, while focusing on the same set of fundamental skills.
