Five Breath Support Myths
Singers who’ve been around the block a few times have usually heard it all when it comes to breath support. And for many of us, the instructions we’ve received from one teacher directly contradict those we’ve received from another!
Should we push down and out, or pull up and in?
Should we breathe in the front, or in the back?
Should we take a nose breath, or a mouth breath?
Should we use belly breathing, diaphragmatic breathing, or rib breathing? (And are these things actually different?)

Through vocal exercises, you will learn about inhalation, onset, and support (sometimes called appoggio)—the total body coordination that singers use to pace their outflow of air during sustained singing.
